REHEMA CRAFTS, MUSOMA, TANZANIA
By collaborating with the women at Rehema Crafts based in Musoma, Tanzania we have made a series of products for your home. Rehema craft project, in Musoma is affiliated with the Anglican Church of Tanzania, made up of a local cafe and craft shop, and employ nineteen local women who produce beautiful, good quality products. The seamstresses who make the crafts can develop their skills, earn a living wage, and after these women’s salaries, any profits from the Rehema Project benefit local women and children in crisis.
Having built connections with the women working there myself after travelling out to Tanzania in 2013, the opportunity to work with their sewing community seemed too good to turn down. Sewing all their products lovingly by hand, and often over a cup of chai together they have formed a close knit community which brings support to many women in the area.
